SIOUX FALLS (AP) -- An investigator testified Monday that three guns were found between the site of an Aug. 8, 2006, shootout at Custer State Park and the site of a pickup driven by two Hells Angels bikers.
Chad Wilson of Lynnwood, Wash., and John Midmore of Valparaiso, Ind., are on trial in Sioux Falls on charges they shot and tried to kill five people affiliated with the Outlaws Motorcycle Club.
Wilson and Midmore have pleaded not guilty to five counts of attempted first-degree murder and one count of commission of a felony while armed.
They were arrested the night of the shooting, after telling an off-duty park ranger their pickup had broken down.
Defense lawyers argue their clients were ambushed by the Outlaws and acted in self-defense.
