The 36th Annual North American International Motorcycle Supershow returned to the International Center in Mississauga Ontario January 6 – 8, 2012.
This show known as “The Big One by the Airport” is 425,000 square feet in 7 halls and has something for everyone. With attendance expected to exceed 60,000 over the 3 days, attendees had the chance to see all the latest bikes, gear, accessories as well as participate in some of the seminars, check out the fashion shows, live bands and the custom bikes who competed for a $50,000 jackpot and the Canada Cup.
This show has over 1000 bikes on display including the 2012 models. There were several bikes unveiled including the North American Debut of “Tour of Duty” Afghan war vet’s motorcycle, Kawasaki North American Debut of the 2012 Versys 1000, and a rare fully-enclosed 1955 Vincent Black Prince Motorcycle.
Show owner/producer, Bar Hodgson is an avid collector and this 1955 Vincent is one of 300 vintage and classic bikes in his personal collection. Known to his friends as Mr. Motorcycle, Mr. Hodgson has been building

high performance engines and custom motorcycles since as early as the 50s. He has been restoring and collecting bikes since the 80s and has recently returned to building and designing motorcycles.

The Poole Family displayed their collection of Vintage motorcycles including a 1925 Henderson that was used in the movie Amelia.
Some of the other events of the show included seminars featuring Motocross Stars of Tomorrow and author Liz Jansen held Women Riders Forums each of the 3 days. The MAX Awards (Motorcycle Awards of Excellence) were also announced during the show for riders and racers. Special guests of the show included Motocross Star Kyle Keast, Road Racer Karolina Pelc, Rider of the Year Emily Roberts, Authors Liz Jansen, Don Norris, Mike Partridge, Toronto Artist, Dan Tanenbaum and Rockabilly musician Ronnie Hayward. Kahuna Powersports gave away a 2011 Kawasaki Ninja 250R to the lucky contestant who found the key in a pool of green Jell-o.
The Supershow gives bike builders the chance to compete for the Canada Cup and $50,000 in prize money.
Judging for this event was completed by the IMBBA (International Master Bike Builders Association) and the level 3 results are:
3rd place ($800) 2006 Suzuki Hayabusa owner Jim Ellis.
2nd place ($1500) 2010 Black Widow owner Edith Tasse.
and 1st place ($2500) Miss Treated owner Mohamed.
The Level 4 Pro Builder 3rd place ($3500) winner, “Spartacus” builder Christian Rivard,
2nd place ($7000) winner “Blade” builder Fred Vaillancourt from Rat Shop;
1st place ($12,000) and winner of the Canada cup “Speeding Bullet” builder Steve Schuller from Industrial Customs.
