Medicine Hat swap meet was held March 10, 2012 at The Harmony Hall in Redcliff. There is talk that this venue will change to Seven Persons next year. I will keep you posted.
Many people look forward to coming out to catch up with friends and the weather couldn’t have been better for March. It was an outstanding 18 C. The winds were quite strong but that didn’t stop the 50 or so bikes that I saw in the 2 hours I was there
I talked with Mar who was at the door and she told me roughly 350 people had been through by 3 pm. She also told me all available vendor tableshad been utilized.
There were the usual offerings of parts, t-shirts & leather goods but new this year was a local photographer Tracy from Creative Captures Photography. She has had some of her wildlife photos published in National Geographic. She offers photo shoots of “you & your scoot” and had an album of her work on display as well as some 5x7 prints for sale.
In years past there has always been an overkill of a Police presence circling the venue throughout the day. That was noticeably diminished this year.
All in all I’d say it was a great day to enjoy what so many of us in Southern Alberta wait patiently for.... a chance to meet with our wind Brothers & Sisters, shop around for some loot for our bikes & shoot the breeze.
Maybe I will see you chasing pavement this year. Until then...
Ride Safe & enjoy EVERY moment.
