12 new members to be inducted Saturday - Times & Transcript

The Maritime Motorsports Hall of Fame will welcome 12 new members Saturday.

The 2008 induction class features antique collectors Earl and Jean Chapman of Salisbury, the Greater Moncton Street Rods club, builder/promoter John Chisholm of Antigonish, N.S. and competitors Gordon (Boo) King of Fredericton, Frank Moore of Saint John, Lewis (Junior) Kelly of Lower Sackville, N.S., his son, Scott Kelly, Jack Canfield of Dartmouth, N.S., Eugene Pettipas of Sambro Head, N.S., Raymond Birt of Charlottetown and Robert (Bob) Beer of Charlottetown.

Moore, Canfield, Beer, Earl Chapman and Scott Kelly will be honoured posthumously.

The induction ceremony is set for the Ramada Plaza Crystal Palace Hotel. A meet and greet is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., followed by a turkey dinner at 6:30 p.m. The induction ceremony will begin at 7:30 p.m.
