LONDON (AFP) - A motorcyclist was jailed for six months on Monday for speeding at 122 miles per hour -- with his 14-year-old son riding on the back, a court heard.

Robert Bennett, who was caught riding at more than twice the 60 mph speed limit on his 1300cc Suzuki bike last April, was also banned from driving for 18 months by a court.

The 47-year-old cleaning supervisor from Barnstaple in southwest England, who is divorced from the son's mother, admitted driving dangerously after picking up the boy from his ex-wife for a visit.

"Had you lost control the motorcycle would have become a missile and it is certain there would have been a serious accident or highly probably the death of a least one other road user," the judge told him.
