New helmets from 6D Advanced in Brea promise to reduce concussions and other head injuries. When the five racers on GEICO Honda's 250SX team take to the dirt for the Monster Energy Supercross series opener Saturday in Anaheim, they won't only be careening over whoops and flying 30 feet in the air in their attempts for a podium finish. They'll be debuting a new helmet technology designed to reduce blunt-force trauma should one of them hit the ground.

The helmets are from 6D in Brea, which, for the first time in a motorcycle helmet, is incorporating a new omnidirectional suspension system designed to reduce the likelihood of concussion stemming from a rider's unintended head butt into the dirt. READ ON
