'Quiet force in the community' Prominent Kemptville realtor who died in motorcycle accident in Australia remembered as a generous man

Nik Wellstein, a prominent Kemptville property developer credited with helping revive the community's downtown, will be remembered as a man who touched many people, both as a developer and as a generous friend. He was killed Dec. 21 in a motorcycle accident while visiting his son in Australia.

According to news reports, Well-stein, 53, and his son, Jason, 30, were riding motorcycles on a country road in Peachester, a small town north of Brisbane, when the older man crashed head-on into a four-wheel drive vehicle pulling a trailer. Wellstein had gone to Australia on a surprise visit for his son's birth-day.
