The Missing Women inquiry has rumbled off the tracks amid accusations of a coverup, suggestions of a Hells Angels' abattoir and a surprise novel penned by a traumatized cop.

Who opened this can of worms?

Since commissioner Wally Oppal began hearing witnesses late last year, two agendas have been clashing - his and that of lawyers at the inquiry.
