9 Cylinder Chopper from GermanyThose zany Germans are at it again, this time building a chopper around a nine-piston radial engine.
 
Most motorcycles have one cylinder or two. Some (like Triumph) make three-cylinder motorbikes. Honda makes a V6. And the Boss Hoss packs a Corvette V8 into a motorcycle frame. But this is even bigger. Hailing from Germany is this custom chopper with a nine-cylinder radial engine. Despite all those pistons (or maybe because of them), it’s got no exhaust, no silencers… not much of anything else, really, but that giant engine mounted transversely across the front of the bike. However, it looks like when customizers are thinking about such a machine, the end result is glorious. And Custom Wolf's Aston Martin tribute Hommage motorcycle is a truly glorious beast.

In case the shape of the Hommage seems familiar, it may be because of the huge, raked-out Thunderbike fork perfectly complemented by the Wolf custom tank. Some might say the Hommage reminds of the Walz bikes and be right: roadster-ish beauty has some classic shapes, indeed. READ ON

One of the top entries in Local Motors and DPC Motorcycles crowd-sourced motorcycle design competition.One of the top entries in Local Motors and DPC Motorcycles crowd-sourced motorcycle design competition.The brief was, start with a stock 2000-2003 Harley-Davidson Sportster and design a one-of-a-kind custom motorcycle.

The Local Motors/DP Custom Cycles competition doesn't have much relevancy to New Zealand but we like the winning designs and thought we would share them.

Over 200 entries were received via the online competition from 10 different countries, with the winning concept by Andre Costa of Portugal, to be built by DP Custom Cycles. READ ON
