The second annual Tri-City New Brunswick Motorcycle Ride for Dad Poker Run will rumble down provincial highways June 6.
Motorcycle riders from across the province and beyond will take part in the day-long fundraiser to support the quest for a cure for prostate cancer, the second leading cause of death in men in Canada. One in seven men will be affected by prostate cancer during their lifetime.
In the past eight years, the Motorcycle Ride for Dad campaign has raised over $2.3 million in pledges and contributions for research and education.
The riders set out from Moncton, Saint John and Fredericton to meet up in Sussex.
Participants meet outside national sponsor Marks Work Wearhouses in the three cities for charity breakfasts, show-and-shine and store sales events. Then the riders take to the road in a parade of bikes led by police escorts.
In Sussex, the riders and friends will gather at the Sussex Drive-in Movie Theatre property for a barbecue and closing activities. Venders will be on site and there will be a camping area for those who want to stay overnight.
