The pleasant weather March 6 saw many motorcycle enthusiasts taking advantage and enjoying their first ride of the year. In one case however, a motorcycle driver won't be operating a motor vehicle or his motorcycle for 7 days.
At approximately 5:00 p.m. Elgin OPP officers saw a Black 2007 Suzuki motorcycle traveling high speed southbound on John Wise Line in the area of Fingal Line, Southwold Township.
The motorcycle was captured on radar at a speed of 177km/h in a posted 80km/hr zone. Police stopped and charged the driver. A 42-year-old St. Thomas man has been charged with racing a motor vehicle.
