On Sunday, July 19 at 3:47 pm, officers from the Espanola Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment responded to a single vehicle collision on Highway 17 in Hallam Township.
The investigation revealed that the male driver was operating a Harley Davidson motorcycle and was traveling eastbound on Hwy 17.
The driver traveled from dry pavement to wet pavement and subsequently lost control, leaving the paved portion of the road and continued eastbound into the south shoulder.
He was traveling with his common-law wife. She had been traveling ahead of the victim on her own motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle was transported to the Espanola Hospital where he died of injuries sustained as a result of the collision.
