Collision claims life of motorcyclist

District 10 RCMP are continuing their investigation into the accident which cost 23-year-old Marc Levesque of Grand Falls his life on Thursday, May 21.

According to the RCMP, Levesque was driving his motorcycle shortly before 8 p.m. when he was not able to brake and avoid crashing into a car which was turning left into a driveway off Highway 144, a few metres north of the Près-du-Lac Inn. Levesque died at the scene. The driver of the car was taken to the General Hospital suffering from minor injuries.

RCMP, EMTs and members of the St. André fire department arrived shortly after being called to the accident scene which was closed to all traffic following the collision until the next morning when an RCMP accident reconstructionist was dispatched from Fredericton.
