But they're on the road to recovery after being struck and injured by a car last summer while riding their motorbikes on Lincoln Road.
Four of the five people hurt in the accident plan to jump back on their bikes in a few weeks and do their part in the fight against cancer.
They intend to be active participants in this year's 2009 Tri-City New Brunswick Ride for Dad.
The second annual fundraiser in support of prostate cancer research and education is set for June 6 in Fredericton, Saint John and Moncton. The goal is to raise $50,000.
Mark Perego of Upper Gagetown is co-chair of the event and one of the bikers who was hurt.
