Motorcycle fatality 'a terrible tragedy'
A Calgary woman has been killed in a motorcycle crash in Kootenay National Park.
Jody Griffiths, 42, was a passenger on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle eastbound on Highway 93 when the driver lost control about 50 kilometres north of Invermere, B.C., on Sunday afternoon.
"The driver indicated a rear tire blew out," said Staff Sgt. Marko Shehovac of the RCMP's Columbia Valley detachment in Invermere.
Griffiths suffered fatal head injuries when the motorcycle left the road and went into the ditch, Shehovac said.
