A 9% rally in Apple (AAPL: 607.70, -2.30, -0.38%) shares on stronger-than-expected quarterly earnings sent the tech-heavy Nasdaq up more than 2% yesterday, marking its best day of the year.
The Dow and the S&P 500 also rallied, despite news that orders for long-lasting, expensive items called durable goods dropped dramatically last month.
Futures this Thursday morning are signaling a small pullback.
Harley-Davidson (HOG: 52.88, -0.61, -1.14%) is marketing to women, and it's working. The motorcycle maker grew its sales 20% last quarter to $1.27 billion and Harley shares revved 6% to their highest price in nearly five years yesterday.
The company is targeting women with bikes designed specifically for them -- think low-slung machines, special seats, handle bars and foot gearshifts. Harley-Davidson said that two-thirds of women who bought big bikes in the U.S. last year bought Harleys. READ ON

Bike Magic Product Review02:30Bike Magic Product Review I had detailed my bike with Bike Magic products before I left on my 33,000 KM journey across Canada and used the products to keep my bike clean all summer. I left Grande Prairie with just over 99,000KM's on my bike and it now has just over 132,000 on it. My 2007 Street Glide had been parked, with a week's worth or road grime on it, back on September 18, 2013. This video was taken January 17th 2014. Detailer Sarah Dusterhoft details my motorcycle in my office, no pressure washer, no hose, just a bucket, some wash rags and Bike Magic products. Bike Magic by BIO-KLEEN can be purchased through Rider Friendly Business Association member Elbow Grease Ventures. Please visit my Defence Fund web page to read what I reported on, to see how I turned from supporter to disillusioned. Read the documents I link to, the blog posts and their links and screen shots and I believe you will see that I reported on what I found, what I saw and what I knew. There is much more that I have never shared, my lawyer will get all of it. I shared nothing that was sent to me privately, only what was in public domain. http://www.beltdrivebetty.com/community/bdb-defense-fund My only goal in anything I do, is to educate and inform people as to what is happening. I deeply appreciate your support. Belt Drive Betty

Rider Error - Dressed for the slide, not the ride02:46This video is about Rider Error, my subsequent crash and how wearing good gear saved my hide, literally. There is an accompanying article to this brief video that is being printed in our newspaper, The Busted Knuckle Chronicles that explains what happened, step by step better than the video does. What the video Can Not tell you is that the biggest error I made was NOT getting familiar with emergency stopping on a new to me bike and a new to me riding style - Adventure Touring VS Touring - before ever riding it. A 2012 BMW 650GS reacts far differently than an 07 Street Glide and the back brakes are in a different position. Having not practised emergency stopping, I had no idea how differently this bike would react. Rider error compounded by another rider error. Thankfully I was dressed for the slide and walked away with only brusies, a sprained thumb and sore ribs. Thankfully no one was behind me, it was obviously not my time. Thank you God. The gear I wore did it's job, next time I'll do mine and practise emergency stopping on any new to me bike that I ride.
