Having contributed to the start of the hybrid movement more than 10 years ago with the original Insight, Honda may now be looking into hybrid motorcycles. According to Bikes in the Fast Lane, Honda has filed a patent for a hybrid touring motorcycle, which they claim looks a lot like the Gold Wing tourer currently available. The wording used in the filing, as is the case with most patents, is heavily laden with technical jargon and legal speak. But it does clearly list an electric stator motor as one of the motorcycle’s key components.

U.S. Paint has recently introduced four new colors to its line of factory approved Honda Goldwing motorcycle paints. The colors match the newly designed 2012 Goldwings and are the only coatings manufactured in the United States that meet Honda Engineering Specifications (HES) and are approved by Honda for the painting of accessories and aftermarket items. All new colors will be marketed under the Insignia® label along with U.S. Paint’s other standard colors. The new standard colors are:

• Graphite Black (AJ2061)
• Glint Wave Blue Metallic (AJ5126)
• Candy Alizarin Red (AJ7134)
• Fadeless White Pearl (AJ8142 - AJ8143)
