Four Regina men proved to be worth their salt at the recent World of Speed 2009.

Competing at the famous Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, Al Elmer, Paul Godfrey, Peter Hintz and Jae Norelius combined to set a land speed record Sept. 17 and 18. Elmer piloted a 1972 Kawasaki 350cc motorcycle to an average speed of 94.433 miles per hour to set the mark in the sidecar gas class.

Elmer said the idea to go after the record was hatched about a year ago for a simple reason.
