The mid-price category of the motorcycle segment is set to see intense competiti­on with the launch of new products by the two-wheeler ma­kers and their sharpened
fo­cus due to higher margins.

Though the classification is a bit confusing as Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (Siam) classifies categories based on the engine capacity, most manufacturers describe the category based on the price. According to Siam, engine capacity of 75-125 cc is entry segment, 125-250 cc executive segment and above 250 cc is premium segment), while manufacturers have their own classifications.
