WILKES-BARRE - It was a strange combination. Roaring motorcycles and the Salvation Army. Christmas and the hot summer sun.
For the second annual Christmas in July ride, an entourage of about 40 bikers, escorted by Luzerne County sheriffs also on motorcycles, blazed out of the Salvation Army parking lot in Wilkes-Barre and headed toward the Back Mountain for an outdoor fundraiser on behalf of underprivileged children, families and seniors, who will receive food vouchers, turkeys and presents for the December holiday.
