A few days ago, Christian sent me a note to be sure to check out the new Erik Buell Racing 1190RS now available for pre-orders. After all of the drama of the closure of Buell and Erik's resurfacing with his own company, we now have the first fruits of that effort, a full on and, it appears, a rather brutally capable, sport bike.
The specs are impressive:
Recently, I asked the staff at a private registry centre if I needed an out-of-province inspection to register a classic motorcycle.
I was told by the manager that I did not if it was over 15 years old and had never been registered in any province in Canada.
She claimed to have phoned Alberta Transport to verify this.
I then acted on that information and received, in trade, a 1965 motorcycle that I valued at $1,000, partly because I would not need to spend the $150 to $200 that an out-of-province inspection costs for a motorcycle. “That’s not riding, that’s sailing . . . smooth sailing,” was Marissa’s first comment after riding the 2011 BMW K1600 GTL (L for luxury).
Two new models replace the BMW touring favourite, the K1200 GT, considered by BMW riders the technological leader of the pack. The buzz of the bike show, the K1600 GT and K1600 GTL, drew the crowds at the BMW booth. These bikes represent everything you could possibly want in a tour bike without sacrificing comfort, power or performance.
Having brought you some exciting news last week about the Brammo electric motorcycle range with the announcement of two new bikes, the Encite and Engage, we now are afraid to say we have some disappointing news in regards to Brammo’s motorcycles.
It seems the company’s flagship model’s release date is about to be pushed back due to a decision to update the Transmission technology. When we first brought you the news of Brammo’s Empulse it was reported that it would be making an appearance this summer. However the delay means we won’t be seeing it until next year now.
