The 9th round of the 2012 MotoGP World Championship at Mugello saw Valentino Rossi do one better than his best ever dry finish in Germany by taking 5th despite being 10th on the grid after another disastrous qualifying session.  Nicky Hayden followed his usual pattern of better qualifying and a faster start only to fade a little at the end.  He finished 7th.  Enjoy these photos from Italy.
