Talk about Lost in Translation. Ducati has had to make rather radical and hideous aesthetic changes to their all new Ducati 1199 Panigale in order to get the model approved for sale in Japan. Turns out that its too loud and now it hurt my eyes!
To hush the Panigale up, Ducati chose to fit a long single silencer that looks like a kit part of a Honda RC45 and is kind of loud all by itself. To go along with this choice comes a different clutch cover. Apart from being an eyesore the changes add some 4kg (~8lb) to the dry weight.

Yeah. We’re going to go ahead and give this one a miss. Culturally the Japanese apologise more than Westerners. It seems in this case it should be the Italians who say sorry.
