After nearly five years of product development and testing, Indian Motorcycle has shipped its first motorcycles.
The 2009 Chiefs will be sold in seven dealerships across the nation. The company said more dealerships will be opening in large markets by July.
“Indian Motorcycle is once again a premium motorcycle manufacturer dedicated to engineering and styling excellence,” Chairman Stephen Julius said in a press release about the iconic brand that was founded in 1901. “We have assembled a dynamic team, developed an outstanding product, and are selling motorcycles in beautifully branded Indian showrooms.”
Production of the 2009 Chief will be limited to 750 units.
