EMC Events - Dennis Pettigrew loves to ride but his daredevil side likes a challenge.
It is with this in mind that the Carp resident is hoping to break the Guinness World Record for the longest motorcycle ride through a tunnel of fire. The current record for this feat is held by American Clint Ewing, who successfully completed it in January 2008.
"I moved here recently and love it and figured this attempt would be good for local charity as well as for the profile of the charming village of Carp since not many places are home of a world record or a world record holder in such an awe-inspiring event," he told the EMC. "I think this would be a great way to raise some money for charity."
At 57 years of age, Pettigrew said he would love to break Ewing's world record. It was set after he rode through a tunnel that was on fire and measured 60.96 metres (200 feet) long in Los Angeles. The record was done for the NBC television special 'Guinness World Records Live - The Top 100'.
The tunnel for his attempt would measure 220 feet long and would be roughly eight feet high by eight feet wide. Read On:
