When Ray Steelman wants to go for a motorcycle ride, he likes to ride old motorcycles. And his latest acquisition is not only really old, it was built in Dayton.
“I’ve had my eye on this old Dayton motorcycle for a long time. I know the owner, and he finally decided he was going to sell it last year, and I had been bugging him for along time, so he sold it to me,” Steelman said while standing in his Beavercreek shop.
The maroon, 1913 motorcycle is pretty much original, and it shows the patina of 100 years. And while it doesn’t shine, it literally reeks of a day gone by, with wide handlebars, a single bicycle style seat and big tires that were once white, now yellowed with age. READ ON
