We have all ridden in fundraising poker runs and know that some can be very rigid in their timeline.
Last year I rode one that was probably the most relaxed I have ever ridden in.
All were welcome, saw some people I had not seen in a while, met some new great new people (as we always do on a ride) and good laughs were had by all.
This poker run was for the “Pike Lake 1st Responders” southwest of Saskatoon.
We gathered at the Flying J gas station at the north end of Saskatoon and rode north to Blaine Lake as one large group, then we headed west in small groups to North Battleford, in NB we were asked if we wanted to eat there or in another town along the way, we opted for NB. Then it was south to Biggar, Rosetown, east to Delisle and ended back at Pike Lake where there was a meal, the 50/50 draw ($500 prize) and usual thank you’s.
This years ride will be on June 2nd 2012, route and details are still being confirmed.
I will get you the details as soon as I can.
I know we will be there again and if anyone is in the area you are more than welcome to join in the fun.
Ride safe my friends. Terry Hartshorn Saskatoon
