Woman dies after getting hit by CHP motorcycle

OAKLAND, Calif. -- A 43-year-old Hayward has died after getting hit by a California Highway Patrol motorcycle.

CHP officials say the woman was hit as she ran across a street in West Oakland around 10 p.m. Friday night.

The woman was taken to a hospital, where she was declared dead on arrival. The officer, who was thrown from his motorcycle, was hospitalized with moderate injuries.
