The issue is the pay and display tickets. Where can you put them for display on a bike and not have them disappear?

Check this info out, and if you can , respond to Jim.

Hello Bruno

I received the following email.  I am collecting data to present to City Hall.
If any riders receive a parking ticket in Peterborough, send me an email with the information.

Hi Jim,

Hope you're getting a lot of miles in this summer. I'm really enjoying my new bike, my first full season, and absolutely love it.

I remember you mentioning that you'd spoken to City Hall about motorcycle parking in the city.
Back then, neither my husband (who's lived here for 15+ years with a bike) or myself had gotten a ticket.

I met a friend for lunch downtown the other day, and low and behold, I come back to find a warning notice shoved in my seat.

I called (several times) City Hall, and their official answer to is bring an elastic with you, and put the
pay and display ticket on your handlebar. My response was, "What if someone takes it?".
They said that hasn't happened yet, but if I do get a ticket, to come in and talk to them.

This all seems really silly. Toronto (and I'm sure a lot of other cities) don't have this issue, and let bikes park freely.

If there's anything I can do to help your initiative, I'd be happy to help.
It's a frustrating situation that's turning off bikers.

On a side note, when I went to City Hall parking office, there was a biker in front of my who way paying off his ticket.
He said they just put it with elastic to his handle bar. So, looks like it does happen in the city. I guess I've just been lucky so far.

Happy riding!
