The mothers of two young men who died in motorcycle crashes have helped craft new motorcycle-safety rules, and are part of a push toward a graduated-licensing program and power restrictions for new riders.
Denise Lodge, mother of Corey, and Cindy Adey, mother of Dillon, held photographs of their sons as they spoke in favour of the measures at an announcement in Victoria Monday.
The graduated-licensing initiative is in the works, but other safety moves are coming into effect June 1. They include a ban on non-regulation helmets known as “skid lids” or “beanies,” and a rule that all helmets must meet specific safety-industry standards. READ ON
