Despite being wildly successful, organizers aren't yet ready to commit to a third Great Canadian Bike Rally after what they believe was an over abundance of RCMP on patrol during the three-day event.
RCMP say the Merritt detachment brought in 10 additional officers based on the festival's projected attendance and not because of concerns related to outlaw biker gangs, said Const. Tracy Dunsmore.
Even with the gangs, festival goers were well behaved, with fewer people lodged in cells than at the height of the long-running Merritt Mountain Music Festival, said Const. Tracy Dunsmore. READ ON
