A piece of two-wheeled Manitoba transportation history is currently on display at the Manitoba Museum and it's got a Portage la Prairie connection.
The late William Gwozd's Whizzer bicycle, a basic bicycle with a special motor attached to make it motorized, is on display as part of an exhibit on pedal power at the museum.
Mary Kohut, Gwozd's daughter, said her father, who live in Portage most of his life, loved his Whizzer bicycle.
"He just thought it was the cat's meow, he loved it," she said Thursday at her home.
Born in 1896, Gwozd immigrated to Canada in 1923 and worked as a section man for Canadian Pacific Railway. Read On: http://www.cpheraldleader.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=2950036
