Event planners organizing everything from a motorcycle parade to a copycat version of TV’s Amazing Race were left scrambling Saturday as thunderstorms wrecked havoc across Winnipeg.

Several hundred motorcycle riders showed up at Canad Inns Stadium on Saturday morning intent on braving a puddle-ridden parade to Assiniboia Downs and a rain-soaked ride to Gimli in support of prostate cancer research, but in the end, Mother Nature simply threw too much at the Manitoba Motorcycle Ride for Dad.
