After our little detour to visit the former zinc mine, Ed Serroul and I continued on for about another mile until we reached a much older road that veered sharply off to the right. This was little more than a trail, since much of it had grown in over the years. For a short while we traversed several fields and orchards, all signs of working farms that once existed on this little plateau, 700 feet above sea level.
