Cape Breton rally’s good fortune doesn’t stir rumbles of discontent

A motorcycle rally in Cape Breton has been granted $145,000 to help offset costs of the events—but that isn’t creating great envy among organizers of Digby’s Wharf Rat Rally, one of the largest in Canada.

Enterprise Cape Breton Corp. is providing $100,000 to BikeFest-Thunder in the Highlands and $45,000 to the annual Harley Owner’s Group rally.

Andy Tonet, organizer of the Harley Owner’s Group rally, says the July 13-17 event is “expected to draw 1,200 to 1,400 motorcyclists.
