SYDNEY — Organizers of this year’s Cape Breton Bikefest: Thunder in the Highlands are expecting to attract as many as 10,000 bikers to the Sydney area for the four-day motorcycle extravaganza.
Scott Boyd, chair of the organizing committee, said there are numerous functions planned that will fit every member of the family.
“It’s definitely a family affair,” said Boyd, an on-air radio personality with 101.9 The Giant, which is a major sponsor for the event.
Advertising this year’s bikefest from July 30 to Aug. 2 has crossed the continent, he said. That has included promotion at bike shows in Toronto, Vancouver and Daytona, Fla.
