Northwest Territories News:
The Hay River Riders held their annual Toy Run on August 11 and even though the date was moved up, some weather forecasts were still calling for snow. While that would put some people in the Christmas spirit, it’s not really appreciated by motorcyclists, especially not in August.

There were scattered showers all day, but at least it wasn’t snow.
The 20 riders from Hay River and 8 from Yellowknife all started with a ride through downtown Hay River and out to Enterprise where we dropped in on their Gateway Jamboree to listen to some live music, have a hot coffee and dry out a bit, then it was back to Hay River for a Bar-B-Q and live auction.

Everyone had a great time and a truckload of toys was collected for the Hay River Secret Santa once again. With the encouraging attendance this year, organizers have already started planning events for next year’s Run. Way to go Hay River!
