Brant-Brantford Crime Stoppers is giving people a chance to have some fun and raise money to help solve crime.

That's the goal of inaugural Crime Stoppers motorcycle poker run Sunday. The event begins at the Polish Hall on Pearl Street with registration at 11 a.m.

"A lot of people don't realize this, but Crime Stoppers relies solely on sponsorships and donations, as well as the money generated by fundraising events, like the motorcycle poker run," said Leslie Barker, who is leading Saturday's event. "We don't receive any tax dollars and raising money for Crime Stoppers has been a pretty big challenge in recent years.

"Crime Stoppers is extremely effective way of fighting crime.
