Triumph manufactured a lot of hype for the Tiger 800, so it was a real treat to discover the British mount lived up to expectations. Not just a shrunken version of its big brother Tiger, the 800 was a purpose-built Adventure bike. Triumph even obliged an off-road oriented version, the XC, which features wire-spoked wheels and is easily the most dirt-capable Trumpet produced by the modern Hinkley company. For those who dream of owning the Trophy TR6 that almost cleared the barbed-wire fence in The Great Escape, a Steve McQueen Edition Bonneville is the next-best thing. There’s a 2012 T100 under that matte Khaki Green paint and mil-spec Triumph fuel-tank stencils. This one gets a solo seat and skidplate, along with a smaller retro headlight, various stealthy blacked-out bits and McQueen’s signature on each side cover. Only 1100 examples will break out of Triumph’s Hinckley works, as evidenced by a numbered badge on the handlebar clamp.

Considering the price you get a lot of bike for your money. This ‘junior cruiser’ doesn’t feel like a lesser bike; it’s not underpowered, doesn’t feel budget, is cool and still has big bike appeal. So good and such value for money I’d question why you’d want anything bigger unless you’re a dedicated big custom fan.
