Yamaha Motor has taken many of the right turns to lessen its dependence on the stagnant Japanese market and reduce currency exposure too.
Nearly 90% of its revenue comes from motorcycle sales in faster-growing economies like Indonesia, Vietnam, India and Brazil. About 97% of its production volume is outside of Japan, and it's moving the entire production of its all-terrain vehicles to the U.S. too.
