Motorcycle registrations almost doubled in four years

If you had the feeling there were more motorcycles on city and provincial roads this summer, there is a good chance you are right. The province has had a notable increase in machines registered for the road in the last five years and motorcycle businesses are marking a rise in demand for sales and service.

In 2005, more than 7,800 motorcycles were registered in this province. With yearly increases, that number almost doubled as of 2009, with just under 14,300 bikes registered. While the tally for 2010 will not be available until January, retailers in the metro area have told The Telegram they would not be surprised to see another increase.
